  • Paddy Madden Returns

    Paddy Madden, Heritage in Schools expert, returned to our school on the 8th of May. We had a wonderful day exploring our school grounds with Paddy, examining plants and drawing pictures.

  • Visit from Caroline the Librarian

    Thank you so much to Caroline who visited us from Kilbeggan Library and inspired us to read and write and embrace creativity of all kinds!

  • Trip around Horseleap Village

    We took a stroll around Horseleap yesterday as part of our History and Geography programme. We saw the Gageborough River, St. David's church in the distance, the old pump in the centre of the village and of course, the famous horse statue. We finished our trip with a visit to Paddy Ryan's shop to get some ice cream.

  • Our Solar Panels have arrived!

    On the 28th March, our solar panels were installed by JFW Renewables. These solar panels are fully funded by the government. We were lucky to be located in one of the counties chosen for this pilot project. Inside our school, we have a screen installed where we can view the amount of energy that the solar panels are producing and the amount of energy that we are using. We hope to see a huge reduction in our electricity bills!

  • Picker Pals

    We couldn't have had a better start to our Easter holidays with the arrival of Patrick from Picker Pals. Patrick explained how the idea of Picker Pals came to him and how he developed his ideas into a book. He played games with us outside and inspired us to keep collecting litter. We will soon be featured on Picker Pals TV!

  • Seachtain na Gaeilge Tráth na gCeist

    Comhairgheadas do na pháistí as Rang 4, 5 agus 6 a ghlac páirt sa Tráth na gCeist ar líne i rith seachtain na Gaeilge. Well done to the Senior Room pupils who took part in two online quizzes organised by Athlone Education Centre to promote Irish as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge.

  • World Book Day

    We celebrated World Book Day on 7th March with a paired reading session between the pupils of the Senior Room and the pupils of the Junior Room.

  • Soccer 5 aside

    Well done to the Senior Room students who participated in the FAI's 5 aside competition on 5th March. Thank you to their coach Mr. Lewis.

  • Concern Primary Debating Final

    Well done to our three debaters, chairperson and timekeeper who reached the regional finals of the Concern Primary Debating Competition. The debate was held on 21st February in Athlone Education Centre. Our team valiantly opposed the motion ' The business sector has the most important role in achieving the SDGs in Ireland'. However, it was not to be their day and Emper N.S. are now through to the next stage of the competition.
