BLAST - Bringing Live Arts to Students and Teachers

Thank you so much to Athlone Education Centre for giving us the opportunity to participate in the wonderful BLAST programme. Our school was paired with Helen, who specialises in drama, dance and film. She worked with us for four days to introduce the pupils to the world of film making. The children learned all about the different shots that film directors use. In small groups, they prepared a story board of their film and then set about becoming actors, directors and camera people!

The pupils produced three very different movies - 'Bob, the turkey and the homeless man', 'Bad Magic' and 'Christmas Attack'. We definitely have some future film directors in our midst!
